WEEKENDER: the best Halloween parties, Bacchanalia Brunch, Festival of Restaurants and more!

26 October, 2012

We’re counting down the days to Halloween 2012 and have lined up a whole host of tricks and treats to make sure your All Hallows Eve is spent in spook-tacular style! Not into the scary stuff? Well, there’s plenty of feasting to keep you occupied this weekend too!

A screaming good time!
Halloween is one of the biggest and freakiest nights in Hong Kong and we have the lowdown on some of the best places to have a screaming good time this year! Go back in time at FREAK LIKE ME, a Rocky Horror inspired Halloween party at Insenses, where you can dance the night away to old-school tracks like MJ’s Thriller, with prizes for the best costume too!

Or why not zombie walk your way over to the infamous Zuma Dead Not Alive party? Celebrating its 5th year, with two entire floors of party people and an awesome DJ line up, this event is expected to sell out before you can say ‘boo’ – and remember, Halloween costumes are essential!

When: 27 October
Where: Freak Like Me, Insenses Basement, LG/F, 13 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central; Zuma, 5F & 6F Landmark, 15 Queens Road, Central
How much: Freak Like Me, $150 in advance, $180 on the door (includes 1 drink); call 9508 4978 or email [email protected] to book. Zuma, $600 (includes 2 drinks), late entry after 2am $300 (includes 1 drink), table packages also available; buy tickets here

Theme park thrills
For those who love a good scare, be sure to make it to Ocean Park’s 12th Halloween Bash! Highlights this year include the 5D Journey to the Underworld (where you walk through 18 layers of hell – eeek!), the Chinese Wedding of the Departed haunted house and even some zombies going all Gangnam Style at the Rock Out Live Show! Meanwhile, Disneyland Hong Kong is also switching on the spooks with an amazing Glow in the Park Parade, a vampire/werewolf showdown in The Clash Of Evil and the Revenge Of The Headless Horseman haunted circus (plus see Mickey & Co. in cute special Halloween costumes!). Expect devilish delights, ghoulish goodies and plenty of photo opportunities whichever you choose… or dare to do double the scares and hit up both!

When: Until 31 October
Where: Ocean Park, Aberdeen; Disneyland, Lantau, Hong Kong
How much: Ocean Park $180-720 (buy here); Disneyland $259-499 (buy here)
