WEEKENDER: Shanghai Tang’s summer cocktail party, donate your pre-loved clothes at Jupyeah’s Mini Swap-Walk, check out PoHo’s Weekend Bazaar & more

31 May, 2013

After what’s seemed like a whole month of rain and thunderstorms, the sun is finally out (for now anyway)! To celebrate this glorious change of weather, we’ve lined up plenty of yummy food, amazing shopping (and swapping!) and even a beach party to make sure you get the most out of this weekend…

Re-orient yourself
Who doesn’t love Shanghai Tang? Their luxurious fabrics, gorgeous accessories and stunning qipaos are all total must-haves in our book! Come kick off summer with Shanghai Tang’s cocktail party featuring their latest exclusive collaboration Shanghai Tang x Moor”s and make sure you hit the surf in style with one of their new swanky limited edition stand-up paddleboards. Don’t forget to take advantage of an exclusive pre-sale on selected items on the night (with a nifty discount on offer) – so it’s time to stock up on Father’s Day gifts, summer birthday presents… and maybe even a little something for yourself too!

Swap shop
If you haven’t yet summoned the strength to do your spring clean (FYI our handy guide is right here), now’s the perfect excuse to clear out that closet! Jupyeah has organised a Mini Swap-Walk for us to donate our pre-loved clothes, shoes, accessories and practically everything else you can think of that’s in need of a new home – and in return, you can grab whatever goods you want from the swap pile. There’s also art, music, food and design exhibitions to enjoy whilst you’re swapping, plus add in a best-dressed competition and a pop-up photo studio and this is definitely much more fun than sticking your old clothes in a bin bag! Get your clothes ready, grab a shopping bag and see what gems you’ll discover.

When: 1 & 2 June, 1-7pm
Where: Causeway Place, 2-10 Great George Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
How much: $30 entry fee

There’ll be live entertainment and fun events out on the streets throughout the day – think scrummy freshly baked goods, delish fruity ciders, a pop-up yoga class, local artists and even some flower jamming! Advance tickets also get an entry to the lucky draw to win a 2-night stay at Vie, a 5 star boutique hotel in Bangkok. Food and fun all day long – sounds like an irresistible combo to us!
