WEEKENDER: La Perla Private Sale, Fashion High Tea, Pre-Loved Fashion and More!

20 April, 2012

Come rain or shine (and we’ve had a lot of both recently!), our Weekender is here to deliver the very best of HK’s happenings for the upcoming week…

High tea for fashionistas
What do we love more than afternoon tea? Afternoon tea with a high fashion twist! Cherish Finden, award-winning pastry chef from The Langham London, is dropping by Palm Court in The Langham Hong Kong for one week only with a super-cute tea set in tow! Created in partnership with jeweller Stephen Webster, the limited-edition Stephen Webster Bijoux Tea is inspired by his most recent jewellery collection with handmade scones, luxury sandwiches and unique sweet creations including the Poison Apple (red peppercorn and dark chocolate shortbread) and Crystal Clear Diamond (a Guinness macaroon with blackcurrant jelly). It almost looks too good to eat… but we’re sure we’ll manage somehow!

When: 21-29 April
Where: Palm Court, The Langham, 8 Peking Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
How much: $318 per person. Call 2132 7898 to make a reservation.

Did we hear the word sale?!
You know at Sassy, we can’t resist a bargain… so you can expect to see us credit card in hand at the La Perla Private Sale (don’t worry, it’s open to everyone though). We’ve been told they have tonnes of stock to go round and with up to 60-80% off their luxurious lingerie, beachwear, ready-to-wear and accessories, this is one sale you don’t wanna miss out on!

Where: 19/F Soundwill Plaza, 38 Russell Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
How much: Free entry; payment for goods Visa/Master Card only

Bargain designer clothes & accessories
Love your designer labels but can’t afford those designer price tags? Then this is the event for you! Pre-Loved Fashion Hong Kong is a one-day only pop-up shop selling brand new, barely-worn and vintage clothes, shoes, handbags, jewellery and other accessories at bargain prices! The wardrobes you’ll be raiding are those of some of our very favourite HK bloggers, including Virginia and Christina from HKFashionGeek, My Fashion Birdcage (also known as foodie Jasonbonvivant) and our very own former That Girl Elle! You’ll be able to snap up stuff from the likes of Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Manolo Blahnik, Marc Jacobs, Prada, Gucci, D&G… the list is endless and we’re excited already!

When: 21 April, 11am-8pm

Buns galore!
It’s time to celebrate one of Hong Kong’s oldest traditional festivals – the Cheung Chau Bun Festival. For those who haven’t been before, the centrepiece is a 14-metre tower covered with 9000 Chinese buns that people have to scramble up! So catch a ferry from Central Pier and enjoy several days of festivities, including the famous climbing carnival, Chinese Opera performances, lion and unicorn dances, the Piu Sik parade and the exciting Bun Scrambling competition; swot up first and read all about our own day trip to Cheung Chau here.

When: 25-29 April; see full schedule here
