Hot Yoga Cold Treats

You’re hot then you’re cold…
We love doing some hot yoga from time to time, but in Hong Kong’s already sweltering heat, it can be difficult to get motivated. Thankfully, Pure Yoga is hosting Hot Yoga Cold Treats this weekend, with some tempting after-yoga delights to get you going! It’s an afternoon of hot yoga followed by healthy ice cream from Sassy favourite Happy Cow, perfect for all of you looking for a well-deserved and guilt-free treat after sweating it out. Reserve your mat at any Pure Yoga centre once you’ve paid the minimum donation – it’s all for a great cause, too.

When: 3 August, 4pm
Where: Pure Yoga, 2/F, Asia Standard Tower, 59-65 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong
How much: All proceeds from this session go to Feeding Hong Kong. Minimum donation is $100 for Pure members, $150 for non-members.

Jay SeanBaby, are you down?
He certainly is! UK R&B multi-platinum hit-maker Jay Sean is performing at Levels, one of the hottest clubs in Hong Kong. Having worked with Sean Paul, Lil Jon, Nicki Minaj and more, this is a club night you won’t want to miss. His smooth and velvety voice will have you swooning in seconds. Sing it with us now… baby, are you down, down, down, down, down?

When: 7 August, 10pm-4am
Where: Levels, 2/F, On Hing Building, 1 On Hing Terrace, Central, Hong Kong
How much: Standard tickets are $340, VIP tickets are $380. If you’re thinking of booking a table, email [email protected] or call 2850 6826.

Reggae Star WarsWe’re jammin’…
… to the tunes of the reggae greats at a six-hour long party on the beach. The George Lukas Reggae Movement (which is intentionally random) will have five DJs spinning reggae beats and providing good vibes on a Sunday afternoon. We can feel the excitement buzzing for this one, as the organisers have had to release a second batch of advance tickets. Grab ‘em here, or turn up on the door (or should we say boardwalk?) and don’t miss out! May the force be with you…

When: 3 August, 5-11pm
Where: Victoria Recreation Club, Deepwater Bay, 710 Island Road, Deep Water Bay, Hong Kong
How much: Advance tickets are $200, which includes a drink, a $20 charity donation to Feeding Hong Kong and a mixtape. They’re $200 on the door.

Bubble FootballThe dating game
Dating in Hong Kong is difficult – some of us in the Sassy office are well aware of this fact (wink, wink, hello, boys!). Well, we’ve found an… alternative. Bubble Football (similar to zorbing) and speed dating go hand in hand, right? It’s certainly something fun and different to do while you’re getting to know each other, and definitely no worse than an awkward dinner date. For one thing, you’ll have more laughs and you’ll let out your inner competitive streak – perfect for a little back and forth flirting with a new squeeze! There are only a couple of spots left, so RSVP to [email protected].

When: 2 August, 4.30-6.30pm
Where: Sfalo Soccer Stadium, 398-402 Kwun Tong Road, New Territories, Hong Kong
How much: $350. More details here.

Got an event you’d like us to feature in The Weekender, or have a top tip for us? Email us the details at [email protected].
