WEEKENDER: Celebrate Le French May at PURE Bar & Restaurant, check out Café Gray’s delish Diptyque afternoon tea and more

With a hop, skip and a jump – we’re in May already! Let’s hope the whole ‘April showers, May flowers’ thing rings true this month, bringing us lots of sunshine! In case you haven’t made plans for this weekend yet, come satisfy your Cinco de Mayo fever, afternoon tea cravings or love for rum with our picks for the weekend!

C’est la vie!
Le French May is already in full swing – and what better way to celebrate than with some très délicieux French wine and cheese at PURE Bar + Restaurant! Cheese connoisseurs won’t want to miss out on PURE’s fab value tasting platters, which come paired with three red wines and three white wines. So round up a few friends, head to PURE and unwind le francais way!

Bring on the scones

If you love candles and love scones (and who doesn’t, right?), this one’s for you! For the best views and an afternoon tea to remember, grab your favourite girlfriends and head to the Café Gray x Diptyque afternoon tea (see our Sassy review here)! Come and indulge in some Diptyque-inspired goodies while you gossip with the girls. After tea, you’ll also be able to redeem a complimentary set of Diptyque’s newest Moheli fragrance kit at their IFC store! Now that’s what we call an afternoon well spent!

Spicy Saturday party 
The hot weather got you craving Mexican food and fun? Then to fulfil your heart’s desires, stop by Brickhouse Sessions this Saturday for their Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Every first Saturday of the month, Brickhouse will be bringing in live bands (including Sassy fave, The Weathering!) and a whole lotta food and drink for you to enjoy in this party atmosphere! So grab your friends, order up some of Brickhouse’s fantastic sweetcorn and cocktails, and enjoy your Saturday at our favourite little Mexican hangout in LKF.

Giving you the green light
Show you care for the environment at the launch of A Green Home Shop on 5 May. There’ll be a ton for you to explore, whether you’re into candles, furniture or designer jewellery – everything will be sustainable and green green green! And what would a launch be without food, eh? There’ll be organic food to munch, local honey and to top it all off, delicious desserts from Grassroots Pantry – the perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday!

Head on to tropical paradise…
If you gals haven’t gotten your butts over to Honi Honi yet, then this is the perfect event to entice you in! Honi Honi is hosting the “Hong Kong Rum Festival” where you’ll learn all about the history, types and styles (not to mention the tastes!) from top rum makers providing samplesstraight from the bottle! Spend all day sipping away at cocktail sampling stations with live performances and Caribbean food to go all round! What could be better than that?
