Vera Wang bridal boutique opens in Hong Kong

9 October, 2012

Attention all brides-to-be! You can now add something else to your long list of wedding to-dos – a visit to Vera Wang’s new bridal boutique in Hong Kong! Yes, you heard me right… Vera Wang is opening its first Hong Kong flagship store on Staunton Street in Soho. Every girl’s dream – in the heart of Soho – talk about exciting!

I was lucky enough to have the chance to tour the new store recently and boy, was it like a dream come true! The minimalist multi-level townhouse features large ceiling-to-floor windows filled with beautifully dressed mannequins that you can’t help but stop to take a peek (like the lady in the photo above!). Inside you’ll be greeted with beautiful shades of grey and charcoal walls that make for an elegant and perfect space to exhibit all your favourite Vera Wang elements – the tulled ruffled skirts, décolletage overlays and layered textures… I’m talking details galore. It’s enough to have you start planning a wedding on the spot!

Currently in store is Vera Wang’s Fall 2012 Bridal Collection, but I am told that their Spring 2013 Bridal Collection inspired by traditional Chinese wedding colour palettes (i.e. not just white!) will be in store later this year. We’ve been asked a lot if these colourful bridal gowns might work well as evening dresses… and the answer is yes!

If you’re planning on wearing one as the evening dress for your wedding, you may want to consider that it could steal your main gown’s thunder… though we can’t blame you for wanting some more Vera in your life, as her creations are all seriously beautiful (so if you have any truly fabulous evening parties that you’re willing to splash the cash on, you might just find the evening dress of your dreams here too)!

In addition to the bridal gowns, the store will showcase Vera Wang’s accessories, shoes, fragrances and pieces from the designer’s Wedgewood home collection. Visits to the store are by appointment only so book yours in now!
