Tory Burch Opening in ifc Mall

3 November, 2010

When I first started to see the Tory Burch brand around a couple of years ago, I didn’t really get the appeal – lots of bright in-your-face colours, huge logos and gold hardware aren’t really my style, and neither is the preppy aesthetic she seemed to hawk. Since then though, the brand has become a global phenomenon and my attitude towards the line has softened so much that as of today I am the proud owner of a new Verona Satchel. I’m excited by this purchase because it is super-practical for my new mum life as it can be worn as a shoulder bag or across the body, perfect for baby and stroller juggling! It’s also the kind of bag I love because it’s (hopefully) only going to get better with age as it is made out of the kind of tan leather that looks better when it is beaten up and worn in.

Until now, the only place you could get hold of Tory Burch in Hong Kong was Lane Crawford, and then only a very limited selection of pieces, but now an entire stand-alone store is opening in ifc on the first floor which will stock all kinds of items, from shoes and bags to the ready-to-wear line. We don’t have the exact date of the launch yet, but we’ll keep you posted when we find out, and I’m hoping to discover many more items to fall in love with!

Check out the Tory Burch Autumn/Winter 2011 Lookbook to get a feel for the kind of things you’ll be checking out when the shop opens!
