All you Sassy Girls out there from Europe (and beyond) must miss those outdoor markets and carnivals. Wrapping up in your winter warmers, clutching a glass of mulled wine, and taking in the smell of roasted chestnuts and whirring lights of fairground rides… Or maybe you’re the kind of girl who tears straight through the stalls straight to the roller coasters, grabbing some candy floss on the way. Whatever way you like enjoying a carnival (at whatever age!) there’s no denying just how much fun you’ll have. So imagine our excitement when we heard the AIA Great European Carnival was coming back to Hong Kong for it’s second year! With prime position on the Central Harbourfront, it’s expected to attract over a million guests throughout its duration, and spans over the major holidays of Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, and Chinese New Year.
What can you expect?
Rides: There are over 29 rides for all ages and all levels of excitement, some of which have never been seen in Asia before.
Attractions: 3-D installations of iconic European landmarks and a wide variety of street entertainment throughout the day. In the evening the carnival light’s up under the color and beauty of Italian Luminaire lighting, a 400 year old tradition that has been handed down through the generations.
Games: Basketball Extreme, Big Mouth, Bowling, Can Blaster, Can Smash, Catch A Fish, Circle Darts, Fried Frogs, Goblets, Hot Shots, and many more.
Food Stalls: Partnering with Castelo Concepts, you can expect a range of food in an awesome beer garden in the village centre with some of the best hot dogs in Hong Kong! There’s nothing like affordable and fun fairground food to get you feeling festive.
Ice Rink: Hong Kong’s biggest ever outdoor ice rink!
Udderbelly: Udderbelly Festival makes its international debut on Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront this December with a belly-full of exciting entertainment!
Performances: Street performers will be throughout the grounds entertaining and engaging with all the visitors.
