Starting the Transformation: We Interview the Transform HK Winner

26 March, 2010

Back at the beginning of the year, you may remember we posted about the Transform HK competition organized by Body Synergy which offered a total “life makeover” worth HK$40,000 to one lucky guy and one lucky girl. Well, the girl who won is none other than Sassy member Polly, who you may recognize if you’ve ever been to one of our Sassy Hours! Of course, we don’t think Polly needed to change one little thing – she’s gorgeous! But she felt the need to make a bit of a lifestyle change – to “keep herself away from favourite haunt, the Feather Boa, try and shift the extra pounds that 18 months in HK has piled on”. As part of the transformation, Polly is taking part in regular Bootcamp sessions in Hong Kong Park and consultations with the Body Synergy Nutritionist, Charbel. Apart from the health side of things, Polly will also be setting goals and looking for new possibilities with Life Coach, Ana Scherer, and getting a new look with Image Consultant, Sunee of Immaginaire. Polly told us that she’s pretty interested in the image side of the transformation, being “quite a girly girl and interested in shopping but never with anything to wear!”.

Polly has been going for 2 weeks now out of the total 8, so we checked in with her to see how progress is going so far. Polly is averaging 3 Bootcamp sessions per week, which we know from our Sassy Bikini Bootcamps is an impressive feat! She even hit the gym, but found it more difficult to work out away from the supportive and encouraging atmosphere of Bootcamp. Polly told us “apparently exercising will only take me 50% of the way to near-goddess-like perfection (aka me in 8 weeks ha!) so I need to watch my diet too. I met with the nutritionist and really things don’t look too bad. Basically, I need to cut down on the booze, tough call in Hong Kong, but I do get to eat… and often!”.

Polly has also had her first appointment with Image Consultant, Sunee, who for the first step focused on finding out which colours suit Polly best. Polly said, “Sunee took into account the colours (yes more than one) of my yes, hair and skin tone – then we looked at various colour swatches of fabric to see which ones brightened my face and which just made me look dowdy. I was a bit rubbish at this part, being attracted to the colours I liked NOT the ones that made me look the best, so I let Sunee crack on with that”. Polly learned that she is a “warm spring” and was given a little colour wheel to take away with her so that when she shops she can keep in mind the colour recommendations.

We’ll be checking back in with Polly in a couple of weeks to see how she is beginning to change right before our eyes! If you’d like to follow her progress in the meantime, you can read the blogs of the winners on the Transform HK website. Both winners have a real sense of humour about the process, so we’re sure it’s going to be an entertaining journey!
