Alexa Bui Make-Up
We adore girls with an eye for style and we’re absolutely in love with professional make-up artist Alexa Bui of Cashmere and Candy. Born and raised in Toronto, she’s had experience working in make-up internationally and brings everything that she knows to the table. When she’s not busy beautifying every woman lucky enough to meet her, she’s running a fashion and food blog which is a staple of ours. She’s actually married to Alan See, a co-founder of The Armoury (one of Sassy’s groomswear boutiques of choice, check our roundup here), so you know that style is seeped into every aspect of her life.
A trial session with Alexa Bui costs $1,800 whereas wedding hire costs $2,800 (the trial fee is $1,000 in the case of a wedding hire at the end of a consultation).

Now we’ve mentioned our undying love for the Mandarin Oriental’s beauty services in our wedding hair-stylists round up here, but did you know that they offer bridal make-up services too? As the official make-up artist for the Mandarin Oriental, Anael’s worked to create only the best looks for Hong Kong brides and she’s even worked with us on one of our Sassy photo shoots here! She’s also partnered with Marion Tessier, one of Sassy’s favourite wedding photographers, and their wedding portfolios look like something straight out of a fashion editorial. This Paris-trained professional has flexed her make-up muscles in publications like Style magazine, Cosmopolitan and even Vogue to create looks inspired by her multicultural French and Asian background. We can guarantee that she’s an absolute dream to work with and definitely somebody you want on your side come your wedding day!
On-the-day services cost $1,200, whereas a combined make-up trial and on-the-day services cost $2,200.

As the old make-up adage goes, make-up can do little without a great canvas. That’s why we love international make-up superstar Patrick Havegheer’s approach to make-up and his insistence that skin care comes first and make-up second. Our girl Dee sat down with him for a wedding make-up trial and he had her skin glowing in just minutes, and that was before he’d even put any make-up on her! (Spoiler alert: she was even more stunning when Patrick was done with her.) Using only the best internationally sourced products to bring your beauty to brilliance, we’ve got a lot of love for Yves Saint Laurent’s former spokesperson’s talent.
See Dee’s review of Patrick’s services here!
Initial consultations are free and wedding make-up sessions begin at $1200.

Your wedding day should be all about your journey as a woman and Natasha Sajnani’s aim is to empower women through the power of make-up. This professional make-up artist has years of experience and we can attest to her skills; we’ve hired her ourselves to help with a few of our Sassy photo shoots! The thing we love about Natasha is that not only is she dedicated to creating client-centric glamorous looks, she’s also really into helping guide women who want to learn more about make-up to accentuate their inner beauty. She’s actually just launched her own line of budget-friendly luxury make-up brushes called Face Tools, which have been a hit with discerning professionals everywhere.

We’ve mentioned Kalamakeup before in one of our previous wedding make-up artist roundups, but we couldn’t resist bringing Kalam’s magic up again. She works with brides to create a bespoke-look tailored to their personal style and desired products, all with a smile and no shortage of friendliness. She’s something of a Hong Kong make-up celebrity, catering to international artists like Solange Knowles and fashion magazines, and she uses only the best make-up from companies such as Mac, Nars, Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent. She divides her time working in both her New York and Hong Kong studios, but her hand-selected team of make-up artists are more than capable of taking up the mantle while she’s away. Did we mention she does destination wedding packages too? Take a look at her range of services here!
Kalamakeup services range begin at $3,800.

Ron Tsang’s super chic hair and make-up studio is a New York hipster’s dream, complete with rustic hanging light bulbs and antique furniture dotted around the edges. We love her aesthetic and her approach to make-up: she believes that make-up is not meant to transform anyone, it’s meant to heighten beauty that is already there. One of our Sassy Girls sat down for a bridal make-up trial with her and loved how she mocked up a selection of different looks for customers and really listened during her consultation. We adore the fact that she offers classes for bridesmaids and brides-to-be to learn how to do their own wedding make-up: perfect for a hen-party and women heading off on a destination wedding!

We were thrilled to hear that Mac Cosmetics had recently announced that they’d selected their first Hong Kong senior make-up artist and it was only natural that we had to have Ryuko Lau as one of our That Girls. Although she didn’t start in make-up, she always had an eye for style as a visual merchandiser and took night courses in make-up in her evenings in order to achieve her dream. With impressive credentials like Milan and Paris fashion week under her belt, her bold and creative make-up choices are sure to have you glowing on your wedding day. Check out her make-up tips in our exclusive That Girl interview here!
Prices on request.

What’s not to love about one of M.A.C. Cosmetics elite make-up artists and Ted Baker’s make-up master? We love Saint Warren’s precise and gorgeous style (the likes of celebrity clients like Norah Jones and Judi Dench agree) and his vibrant home studio is a beauty battle station to die for. His easy manner and wealth of experience make him a natural choice for your big day, creating incredible looks that can easily transition from church aisle to dance floor, and he’s always willing to dole out advice for you ladies looking to improve your own routine.
He’s a talented, talented man, Dee tells us, and she’s telling you ladies even more in her in-depth review here!
We know that planning a wedding’s a tall order, which is why we’ve put together some Hong Kong wedding service roundups that you should definitely take a look at.
