Sassy x SAU: Holiday Outfit Inspiration!

8 December, 2015

A Sassy photo shoot with SAU!

We know we’ve said it a hundred times (already!) – but it’s well and truly the holiday season. Endless festive functions, Christmas parties, secret santa exchanges and celebrations are clogging up the calendars, and with so much going on we barely have time to think about what we’re throwing on in the morning before we’re out the door! To save you a bit of time, we’ve scoured the stores of PMQ and found the solution to your holiday party dressing problems with home-grown Hong Kong brand SAU.

You may have seen us rocking beautiful SAU dresses at Burger Circus here, but you’ve got to check out the latest Autumn Winter 2015 Collection. There are even more flattering, gorgeous dresses in this collection, perfect for parties and festive soirees, but there are also some stunning sets with well-fitting trousers, blazers and cute crop tops on offer too. We decided to check them out in person and have a play around in our favourites in preparation for all those holiday parties!

We couldn’t wait to try on the dresses first, and Andrea went for the gorgeous Victoria Gown ($2,900). This black, embroidered lace dress is simple yet stunning, with a slim silhouette that really showed off Andrea’s awesome figure. It was also surprisingly comfortable and would be perfect for any formal Christmas or New Year’s Eve balls!

The delicate ‘Contrast Vertical‘ Kasane necklace went perfectly with the sexy neck line of the dress, and we loved the cubic zirconia and black spinel for a sophisticated sparkle.

Our lovely Lexi tried on the playful Nicole Dress ($1,500), which would be ideal for a Christmas party. The gorgeous bamboo print is our favourite thing about this satin frock, reflecting a bit of Hong Kong’s natural habitat (sort of – if you strip away all the skyscrapers!). The pop of colour from the clutch adds a fun touch to this flirty outfit, and we also loved how the zip is expertly hidden at the back.

The luxe fabric used in Lexi’s dress was also worn by Lauren, who looks like she’s having a bit too much fun! The Olivia Gown ($3,300) falls beautifully and is surprisingly comfortable… just make sure you wear a pair of sturdy high heels with it. The Contrast Horizontal Necklace from Kasane is an elegant, simple touch which really suits a strapless top or dress, so it was the obvious choice to go with this dramatic gown.

On to the special two pieces that SAU has created for this season. Our fab editorial intern Jacqie is rocking the Janet Blazer ($1,900) and the Janet Trousers ($1,175), which make for a super chic, office appropriate look. Yet again, the fabric is the highlight of these structured pieces, and the shimmery olive colour blends perfectly into the winter season. Underneath the striking blazer, Jacqie wears the Gabriella Silk Tank ($900), a loose, delicate tank that is ideal for layering over.

Another two-piece combo that you could create from SAU’s Autumn Collection is the Lisbeth Bustier Top ($1,530) paired with the May Wide Leg Trousers ($1,350). The loose trousers are perfect for dancing all night in and the fitted top has a high-fashion look without the high fashion price tag! This outfit would be so easy to wear for a New Year’s Eve dinner, and the best thing is you can use the separate trousers and top for other occasions.

Another trouser and top combo is the Karish Bustier Top ($1,425) and Lauren Trousers ($1,250), which Lauren is coincidentally wearing in the image above. These slimming trousers looked great with a high black pump, and would be great for the office too. Switch from a white shirt to the strapless Karish Bustier Top for another sophisticated look that isn’t a party dress for your next festive ‘do. Alternatively, the matching Samantha Crop Top ($875) and Isabella Skirt ($1,225) that Jacqie is wearing above is a totally unique outfit that will look great out on the town!

We had so much fun getting all dressed up in SAU’s latest collection, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for Spring Summer 2016. Make sure you stock up on the latest looks so you’re all prepared for the onslaught of holiday parties ahead… get ready to rock around the Christmas tree!
