Sassy Makeovers by Natasha Sajnani, founder of Facetools!

29 January, 2015

If you’re in need of a confidence boost, or if you’ve got a big event that you want to really look your best for, then we’ll let you in on our little secret… our former That Girl, Natasha Sajnani and her incredible set of Facetools make-up brushes! Natasha is make-up artist to Bollywood stars, brides and many others – her skills are evident in the numerous photo shoots she’s been involved with and she enhances your natural beauty while making your best features really pop. We were lucky enough to have her pop over to the Sassy office to give some of our team New Year makeovers!

Check out our before and after photos, with notes from Natasha on what make-up she used and how she created our smokin’ looks:

facetools - meganMegan, Sassy Mama Dubai Editorial Assistant
Megan’s hair framed her face in a way that you couldn’t really see her big beautiful eyes – her bangs were covering them. The goal here was to open up her eyes and highlight them. Concealing under the eyes was key to really bring out the gorgeous dark colour. The dark liner contrasted with her light hair which made her eyes pop even more! I kept the lips simple with a nude/pink toned gloss and slight contouring on her cheeks and nose.

facetools - laurenLauren, Sassy Hong Kong Editor
Lauren is a very classic beauty – she has beautiful pearly skin with a natural glow, so I wanted to give her an old Hollywood glam look. My focus here was to give her a subtle black winged liner with a clean, sheer rosy-base paired with a bright red lip colour. With Lauren, it was important to fill in the brows carefully so that they framed her face perfectly. This is a step quite a lot of people miss out!

facetools - dervlaDervla, Managing Editor
Dervla to me has features that resemble Mila Kunis – every time I see her, I want to do a Mila Kunis-esque smokey eye with a chic contoured face and light lip! My main focus was to conceal under the eyes and to make the eye colour POP – she has my all time favourite eye colour (hazel). For contouring, we went pretty heavy, using a cream contouring technique just to help with the shading of the face and to give a more chiseled look. Her brows are already in a good shape, but I did emphasise them using a brow gel!

facetools - aydeeAydee, Partnerships Executive
The first thing that stands out when you see this stylish lady is her super fun hair – it really brings out her rock chick personality! With this in mind, I wanted to give her a really clean look and a bold lip colour that contrasts, but also compliments her blue highlights. For her base, I gave her a nice clean, glowy look with a slight smokey eye – the dark liner made it more sultry and the red was a mix of a few shades to get the perfect colour – not too bright, but not too dull either. Contouring is generally a must for most people and with her I focused on the nose and cheek area.

facetools - vanessaVanessa, Sassy Singapore Editorial Assistant
Vanessa was one of my favourites to doll up with her naturally bronzed glowing skin, and my goal was to give her something super sexy but natural that contrasted with her blonde locks! Most lip shades would suit this babe, but the idea was to keep it as natural as possible with a touch of liner, tint and gloss. The aim here was to give her eyes a sultry defined look – in my head I was going with Greek goddess! The re-shaping of her brows was what really did the trick, emphasising the depth of her eyes… I did this using both pencil and brow gel. Vanessa is already blessed with a beautiful face shape and we just contoured following the natural shadows of her face to make those cheekbones really pop!

facetools - sanaSana, Graphic Designer
Sana was a really fun look for me to glam up. With all her piercings, I just knew this was going to be a cool look to do. I mixed a few shades of red with a hint of black and purple on the lips to get the colour of this season (‘marsala’) and achieve a really sexy, vampy look. With her eyes, we kept them quite dark with defined brows. Her brows really framed her face well, especially when filled in properly. We went heavy on the contour to give her a nice bronze glow. The blush was a peach tone which added a bronzed glow.
