October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it’s definitely something that I want to promote because it strikes close to home for me….my grandmother as well as some of my very close friends have battled breast cancer and are survivors!
Ten years ago Ralph Lauren started the Pink Pony Fund which features their famous polo player logo in pink to raise breast cancer awareness. This pink pony has an entire line of polo-shirts, cashmere sweaters, candles, menswear, gifts and accessories. Anytime a purchase is made from this special collection, 10% of proceeds go directly to the Ralph Lauren Pink Pony Fund which is a charity for breast cancer care and prevention.
As a way to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Ralph Lauren Pink Pony Fund, Ralph Lauren (the designer) teamed up wtih the StyleList and selected 100 fashion bloggersto model the newest addition Pink Pony polo. “The vision was to allow people to connect with the world of Ralph Lauren,” David Lauren, the designer’s son. Some of the bloggers selected include blogs we follow like The Style Rookie, Bag Snob and Fashion Pulse Daily.
Although, none of us were selected from Sassy, I still think this was such a great idea and a fun way to bring awareness to the fund. In fact, I’m definitely going to go out and buy this new polo to show my support (it’s a bonus that it’s so cute)!
