Letter from the Editor: July 19th 2011

19 July, 2011

As I sit down to write this I have to laugh a bit to myself. I seriously can’t believe that I am writing a Letter from the Editor. You see, before we started Sassy writing terrified me. I specifically remember sitting in my apartment at one of the very first Sassy meetings and I almost threw in the towel when we started to talk about blogging. I never ever thought that it was something I could do but slowly I fell a teeny bit in love with writing. I came to realize that blogging isn’t about being the most eloquent writer, it is about having something to say and sharing with others things you are passionate about.

As Sassy grows we need to focus on other projects so we are so thankful that we have an amazing team to help us out. We have writers (we are so excited about our new bloggers!) and internal team members who are all spending so much time making sure Sassy is a great resource for you. We do ask that you let us know when we are doing something you totally love or on the flip side when we are completely missing the mark.

I can’t believe how fast this year is going. Can it really almost be August? Sassy Hour will be here in a few weeks and we will most likely have a new product launch during the event.  A little hint is that it is something French, for your face and it may help turn back time. Your invite will be sent out via email next Thursday but keep 4th August from 7pm-9pm free!

I feel like we just finished SoHo Shop Walk but we are meeting with the ILoveSoHo team this week to talk about our next one. The plan is to have it later this year so you can stock up on your holiday shopping all in one place. If you are an independent designer who would like to participate in the next SoHo Shop Walk please send us an email ([email protected]) with the subject line SoHo Shop Walk designer.

Hester and I had dinner this past weekend with a group of friends at Le Marron. A Sassy girl recommended the restaurant to us ages ago and I have been meaning to go for the longest time. I thought it was the cutest spot and it is so great for a celebratory dinner (there were several birthday parties there on Saturday night).  After dinner we headed to J Sound in Causeway Bay to do a bit of karaoke and it ended up being a late night. I have been going to karaoke quite a bit lately and I definitely think J Sound is my current favourite.

Things that are running through my head this week…

… I am just about to finish Ladies who Launch in Hong Kong. It is a very inspiring book about 12 women who started their own business in Honkers. Get it at Bookazine, Dymocks or Kelly & Walsh.

… Creating a home office space. I currently work from my dining room table and I feel so disorganized.  Am looking to this as inspiration.

… Marathon training! I signed up for the Singapore Marathon which will be held in December. Is it a problem that I am more concerned about my training attire rather then my training schedule? So scared!

… Speaking of workout clothes. I am beyond obsessed with i am BEYOND. Their yoga pants are ridiculously comfy.

… I am eying up this Michael Kor’s gold watch. Buy or pass?

Until next time!
