Hong Kong is a fantastic place for shopping either the high end designer names like Prada and Gucci or more economical lines like H&M and Zara. It is such a struggle searching for the middle priced brands that are so easy to find back in the US like Twisted Heart, Ella Moss and Paige Denims. Every now and then I do stumble on a small boutique that carries a few pieces of some of my favourite lines, and then of course I have the trouble of getting the exact size that I am in search of.
I literally almost fell over when I found out that one of my absolute favourite department stores from the US is now offering International Delivery and serves Hong Kong; Nordstrom! Nordstrom is the perfect department store that carries a range of labels and lines for every occasion. They have incredible evening wear and dresses for all the Hong Kong balls and events, Nordstrom has a denim department that has jeans of every style, they also carry great contemporary lines of tops, tees and day dresses, they also have a fabulous lingerie boutique stocked with every possible size, and fianlly I can’t forget the incredible shoe department!
Nordstrom makes the process simple. When you visit their site and click international shopping you will have the option to choose Hong Kong. The entire site then gets converted to HK currency making shopping that much easier! The only downfall is the shipping charge is a bit high. For fun I selected an Eight Sixty strapless dress which is priced at $708.83, the shipping was a total of $440.04….more than half the cost of the dress. Out of curiosity I decided to add a pair of Citizens For Hummanity jeans to the shopping cart to see how that would effect the shipping rate. The jeans are $1248.50 combined with the dress gave a total of $1957.33, interestingly the shipping dropped to $398.29. According to Nordstrom’s International Shipping Policy, the rate is calculated according to the number of items purchased. Hmmmmmm shall I use this an excuse to shop for more?!
