Red carpet glamour at H&M – the Exclusive Conscious Collection hits HK!

While everyone else was going mental for Marni, there was actually another H&M Collection that I had my beady eyes set on!

As seen on the likes of Michelle Williams (at the Baftas no less), Amanda Seyfried and Kristin Davies, the new H&M Exclusive Conscious Collection will have you red-carpet ready in no time! OK, the likes of us mere mortals don’t actually have that many red carpets to walk… but hey, who can say no to some very reasonably-priced glamour every once in a while, right?!

The collection launches on April 12 and will only be available at the Queen’s Road Central H&M; we’re hoping there won’t be crazy lines like for the designer collaborations, but we all know how much Hong Kong loves to queue so who knows! All items in the Exclusive Conscious Collection are made from sustainable fabrics, including hemp, organic cotton and recycled polyester – and we’ve certainly come a long way from the days of itchy hemp shirts and hippy patterns, as these dresses are all absolutely gorgeous!

I’m particularly taken with this flirty lime-green full-skirted number as sported by Kristin ($699; I’m getting a slight Christopher Kane/Versus vibe off it) – that juicy bright colour will be perfect for zinging into summer! My other favourite is the sexy floral-print dress ($699); thanks to the likes of Mary Katrantzou and Erdem, big bold floral prints are totally hot right now and this should give you va-va-voom curves to die for. I like how H&M have also produced a long-sleeved jacket ($599) in the same print, which you could wear over the dress for a slightly more grown-up look.

Meanwhile, if you do have some big cocktail parties or black tie events to attend, then these floor-length dresses should be just the business to do some serious swishing about in! My picks are the two grey dresses, one with a long ruffled skirt ($2990) and the other with a floaty overskirt and printed purple bodice ($1990), whilst the orange mini ($699) would also be perfect for some gorgeous summer glamour.

I’m not entirely sure I could pull off the cobalt blue shorts suit a la Amanda… and unfortunately it doesn’t come with a Timberlake included… but if you’re feeling brave, the blazer will cost you $599 and the shorts $249. As for the Michelle Williams dress… sadly, there won’t be an exact replica of that one, but there will be a top and skirt “inspired” by Williams’ gown available in selected stores when the Exclusive Conscious Collection is launched.

So if you want some serious red-carpet glamour that’s eco-friendly too, you know where to go! Just remember… I’m prepared to do battle for that lime green number!
