Goddess Sanctuary Retreat – Information Session and Interview

17 January, 2011

We recently told you about the Goddess Sanctuary Retreat which will be hosted by Nealy Fischer at the Six Senses Sanctuary in Phuket on 24-28 March. If you are in any way interested in attending we suggest going to the information session Nealy will be hosting next Monday evening (24 January) at her apartment here in Hong Kong. The idea behind the session is to answer any questions you may have about the retreat before signing up so you know who you will be spending your time away with and also what you will be doing during the 4 day retreat (read below for a few hints!).

I am interested in attending the retreat myself and I know, being the yoga retreat newbie that I am, that this information session will be perfect for answering all the random questions I have about life during a getaway retreat! Spaces for the information session are limited so make sure you email [email protected] for more details on the time and location.

Read below for our interview with Nealy about the retreat and her inspiration for why she created it!

What is the vision you have for this retreat?
The idea behind the retreat is to create an indulgent getaway for the body and soul – the combination of an active yoga practice, spa cooking and daily massages is intended to rejuvenate and inspire you to leave your fullest, happiest and healthiest self. I wanted to offer the combination of yoga and cooking in a 5 star setting with attention to every detail to make this getaway an unforgettable experience.

Why did you chose Six Senses as your location of choice (besides the obvious of it being so beautiful!)?
Six Senses embodies the perfect balance of a luxury and healthy retreat. The villas are extremely private with pools and exclusive butler service and attention to every detail. No request is ever too large and you pretty much are pampered in every way. Their spa is very special and their visiting international practitioners add a lot. The setting on the beach and the casual nature of the place (you can walk barefoot in your robe all day if you like) puts everyone at ease. It is also a perfect balance of privacy and social interaction. Their food is all super healthy and very good as is their spa and yoga pavilion with all new mats and props.

Who would you like to share this experience with?
The retreat is for anyone who wishes to experience the full spectrum of luxury. Basically it’s for anyone who wants to have a great time, hone in on their yoga practice (all levels welcome), gain skills in the kitchen and leave feeling great. There is also the option of doing a juicing or raw food program for those who want to lose a few pounds and feel better.

What will a typical day consist of?
Early morning juices, morning yoga, breakfast, free time for the beach, pool or spa, cooking class, lunch, free time, afternoon yoga, dinner. There will also be lots of little surprises in between and plenty of time to relax. The full schedule will be posted shortly.

What will we learn by coming to your Intro Session?
I think it’s really important to just meet me in my home and ask any questions you might have about the retreat. I’ll be serving some homemade goodies that I teach in my cooking classes (so come hungry) and wine (which by the way will be available at the retreat)!
