Since I am into yoga I am often asked by newbies to HK about my favourite places to practice. There are so many choices and styles that it can be a bit overwhelming to find one that is a good fit. I go to Pure Yoga myself (I completed their teacher training course in 2008 and have been going ever since) and while I absolutely love it I realize that it may not be for everyone – some may say it is a bit commercial. When I first moved here I discovered Yoga Limbs and took a liking to that studio as well but for different reasons. It is family owned and the classes are on the smaller side which means you get a bit more personalized attention.
What drew me to Yoga Limbs in the first place is that they offer a free 1 week trial so you can test out different classes and teachers and really get a feel of their philosophy and method of teaching. They have 2 locations, one in Sheung Wan and one in Clearwater Bay, and offer a variety of classes such as Power Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and Pre-natal. It is so important to have a connection to the place where you practice and I think it is so nice to have the time to make sure the studio is a right fit. I mean, there is nothing worse then signing up for a gym and then not going, right?
If after a week you decide it is for you then the price point is probably one of the best in town…$2,888 for 12 months!
