Flirty Skirts for Spring

5 May, 2010

This spring one of the key pieces in all the stores is the flirty skirt. Hitting about mid-thigh, often brightly coloured and ruffled or layered, it can be a bit hard to know how to style these pieces if you’re over the age of 21! However, if you’ve got the confidence in your pins (and a little bit of fake tan should take care of any worries) the flirty skirt is really versatile and can be dressed up or down according to your mood. The look in the top left above shows that by adding a tailored top (bringing in another of this season’s trends – the ruffle), and some killer heels like these amazing Charlotte Olympia ones, you can make the flirty skirt suitable for work or a chic lunch out. By pairing a flirty skirt with a slightly cropped loose top and a high-waisted skirt with a pair of fun flats you can make a casual weekend look. Our favourite way to wear this trend though, is by making it really playful – clash prints or add a slogan tank, and pair with the highest, brightest wedges you can find. After all, summer fashion is supposed to be fun!

Unless you totally fall in love with one, this is probably one of those trends that you will want to try out fairly cheaply – Cotton On and H&M are our recommendations to find the flirty skirt in Hong Kong. After all, if you save on the skirt, you can splurge on the shoes and accessories to make it look fab.
