English Heritage Style from Topshop

18 August, 2010

One of the key looks for autumn is a countryside, tweed and jodhpurs style which I think of as being kind of English Heritage. After all the black of last winter, it’s a nice change to see a slightly more cuddly, down-to-earth season, and I’m so relieved that I’ll be able to swaddle my post-partum figure in plenty of layers and woolly jumpers (as soon as the weather allows of course!). I’ve really missed the fun of summer fashion, so I’m already dreaming of my fall wardrobe, and the key pieces I’ll be buying to update last year’s clothes. Having had a bit of success with my last Topshop order, I’m definitely planning to order again soon, and as I’m not sure exactly what size I’ll be, I’m definitely focusing on accessories.

This tan leather cross-body bag is the perfect mini satchel to give you that back-to-school feeling while the tassels keep it looking fashion-forward.

I’m definitely planning to pick up a pair of these stirrup flats which I think will look super cute either with skinny jeans or with opaque tights and a pleated skirt. I think they have a little bit of an Hermรฉs flavour to them that is totally not high-street.

Finally, this is not the most exciting item at first glance, I just know how much I will love to wear this “snood”. Because I so rarely put a coat on even during winter, it’s so nice to have pieces which give you the wrapped up look without overheating. I would wear this over a thin cashmere sweater to feel cosy as can be.
