Ecovision Coastal Cleanup Day: Saturday 25th September

22 September, 2010

This Saturday in Hong Kong, join the International Coastal Cleanup Challenge, part of the world’s largest volunteer effort to help protect our ocean, lakes and rivers. Each year, hundreds of thousands of volunteers from around the world spend a few hours removing trash and debris from beaches and waterfront areas, keeping track of each piece of trash that they find. The Ocean Conservancy uses that valuable information to produce a country-by-country analysis of the problem of marine debris. During the 2009 cleanup in Hong Kong, 6,500 participants cleaned more than 30,000kg of litter from our beautiful coastline.

You can sign up via the HK Coastal Cleanup Website as a team and choose the beach you would like to work on. You’ll receive an email from EcoVision inviting you to a group briefing where you’ll learn how to conduct a safe, fun, successful cleanup and eget the most out of the experience for your whole team. You can even choose the date you would like to work, and on that date, get out in the sunshine and make a difference!
