You don’t have to be American to appreciate the appeal of roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing. Even in Hong Kong, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to Thanksgiving turkey options. Whether you are keen to roast your own, dine out or order in, we’ve rounded up all of the best options. Blue Butcher

Following the success of its menu last year, Blue • Butcher and Meat Specialist will be presenting the Free Range Hunter Valley Turkey, prepared traditionally with all the trimmings. Exclusively available on Thanksgiving (Thursday 22 November), it’s a great choice for a traditional spread. Make sure to call soon, it must be ordered 24 hours in advance.

Commissary

Morgan McGlone, the celebrated chef and owner of Australian-based Belles Hot Chicken, is cooking this year’s Thanksgiving feast at Commissary. Expect a banquet-style spread of McGlone’s favourites featuring meats, sides, sweets and more. Why not opt in for a free-flow of natural wines, courtesy of neighbourhood wine bistro La Cabane? There will be two seatings to choose from, from 6 to 8pm and from 8:30 to 10:30pm, so make sure to book a reservation. For more details, check out the Facebook event and view the menu.

Hunter & The Chase

This Thanksgiving, why not head to Hunter for a ‘refined’ celebration or to The Chase for an al fresco feast! Both locations will be offering a “Sharing Frenzy” set menu by Chef Lopez, featuring a potted turkey confit, a butternut salad, ham steak and a grilled whole turkey. Cocktails include a fruity-refreshing Raspberry Cobbler ($368 per pitcher) and the Barrel Boulevardier ($458 per barrel). Finish with pumpkin pie and whipped cream or a lemon meringue. Reservation is required at least three days in advance – so book as soon as you can! If you’re still feeling peckish, check out Hunter & The Chase’s extensive range of cheeses, all accompanied with American treats (everything from fruit-loops to cheese & onion crisps).

Jamie's Italian Festive Dinner Thanksgiving Menu

Head Chef Atisha Kumar has prepared not one, but two festive menus for Jamie’s Italian this year! Available at both locations, it promises to be an “upgraded” American Thanksgiving feast full of hallmark seasonal favourites. Both feature a 100% American-blooded turkey (sans-hormones), making this the perfect traditional spread option. Autumn eats include a slow-roasted Tomato Bruschetta, Roasted Pumpkin Panzerotti stuffed with ricotta, Fish in a Bag ($228) created with the catch of the day, the highly anticipated Roasted Turkey ($1,500) with all-American trimmings and more. The team needs five day’s notice in advance for all turkey orders, so place yours soon as possible.

Limewood

Why not head to Repulse Bay for a relaxed, coastal Thanksgiving? Executive Chef Russell Doctrove will be putting his own spin on the classic centrepiece, seasoning his Free Range Hunter Valley Turkey with Achiote Marinade, giving the skin a deep red hue and complex taste that’s guaranteed to have you going back for more. This beachside turkey is exclusively available on Thanksgiving (Thursday 22 November) and has to be ordered at least 24 hours in advance.

Mott 32

Head to award-winning joint Mott32 for a contemporary Chinese take on Thanksgiving. You can expect a roasted Free Range Turkey, done in three different ways, as an exclusive Thanksgiving offer. Posto Pubblico Thanksgiving Feast

Osteria Posto Pubblico is celebrating this year’s Thanksgiving with a gourmet feast featuring an array of traditional Italian-American dishes. The set consists of updated classics, including its signature homemade burrata, veal meatballs, and a garlic butter roasted turkey. Finish with a tiramisu and homemade chocolate chip cookie. You can also opt in to its two-hour free-flow package for $249!

Stone Nullah Tavern

Stone Nullah Tavern’s Thanksgiving options are drool-worthy. Choose from a Seafood Platter or a Turkey option, either Garlic Butter Roasted or Southern Fried. Offerings include butter roasted potatoes, pulled pork mac n’ cheese, and an apple crumble. You can even opt in for two hours of free-flow drinks!

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse

Classic American Steakhouse Wolfgang’s is offering an exclusive Thanksgiving dinner, available for only three days. The set features a ricotta cheese salad, pumpkin soup, sous vide turkey, or dry aged New York sirloin (tradition be damned), complete with a pecan pie to finish. You might need a nap after but it sounds worth it to us!

Not a baker? Last year we relied on Burger Circus for pumpkin pie and we are still thinking about how good it was. You can order for delivery, pick up ($188), or opt to eat in and order by the slice with a scoop of homemade ice cream ($58). The restaurant will also be serving up a pumpkin spice milkshakes ($78)!

CRFT-PIT

For an Asian twist, CRFT-PIT doesn’t disappoint! This year, its Thanksgiving Set features an Asian smoked turkey, accompanied by sweet Thai chili-cran dipping sauce, a wonton chip casserole, corn tater tots, brussel & cauliflower ears, smoked loaded baked potato, and Asian slaw. For dessert, the set offers a sweet deep fried Tánggāo. You can add sides for an additional charge – for more information, the order form and menu can be found here.

If you were drooling at Jamie’s Italian’s dining-in festive menu (we know we were) then don’t fret! They also provide a takeaway and catering service, so you can celebrate Thanksgiving within the comforts of your own home and enjoy the same American-blooded turkey and autumn eats (excluding the Fish in a Bag). Main St. Deli’s combo can serve up to 20 people, making it a great choice if you’re having a tonne of people over. Its classic Turkey-to-go Takeaway is delivered in an impressive wood grain carton box and features an American tom turkey with house stuffing. Choose between a 6kg or 9-10kg turkey and festive eats, including its signature roasted pumpkin soup with toasted pistachio and a maple-glazed pecan pie – why not add on an extra order of gravy and stuffing? Mandarin Oriental

If you are looking to host a five-star meal in the comfort of your own apartment, the Mandarin Oriental is a great option for a hassle-free Thanksgiving celebration. It can be delivered anywhere in the city! Choose between a 7kg or 10kg roast turkey accompanied by the traditional stuffing, pumpkin wedges, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, corn on the cob, cornbread and giblet gravy. Dessert options include a pumpkin pie and a salted butter pecan pie amongst more. Feeling rebellious? If you’re a planner and have the freezer space, Pacific Gourmet’s Australian frozen whole turkey will make sure you’re set for Thanksgiving. If you can’t spare the freezer space, you can also order the birds defrosted. As an added bonus, it comes with a self-basting marinade so you can spend less time with your face in the oven!
