AnOther Sweet Place: Dessert Heaven in Central

Your one-stop shop for sweet treats!

AnOther Sweet Place… yes, that is the store name! In our books, no city can ever have too many dessert shops so when we say “another sweet place”, it’s not followed by an exasperated sigh but rather overwhelming excitement. This shop is the perfect stop after an early dinner (when there’s still space in your belly!) or a late night movie if you’re craving a sweet treat.

Despite the name, this is anything but just another sweet place! Conveniently located in Central, this new dessert store is simple but eye-catching, the white exterior is already a much-appreciated contrast to the grey cement streets of Lyndhurst Terrace. The interior is just as bright and welcoming as the exterior. With a colour theme of mostly white tables, floors, and walls, the bright yellow sign adds a nice touch of warmth and liveliness – definitely worth a post on the ‘gram.

On our visit, we tried several of their delicious and beautifully presented desserts – all of which are inspired by classic literature and art. Some of their signature desserts include the Midsummer Night’s Dream (yes, named after and created with the famous Shakespearean play in mind), Chesire Cat, Signature Noir 65 and The Matcha Opera, along with plenty of others.

For something unusual yet elegant, The Matcha Opera is ideal. Alternating layers of heavenly matcha buttercream and chocolate ganache melt in the mouth.

The Midsummer’s Night Dream comprised of a chocolate cake with a pineapple surprise… an exciting dessert with a twist.

The Cheshire Cat was a fruity vanilla citron cake that had the perfect balance of tart and sweet. Great if you love balance in your desserts!

This one is for all the chocolate lovers! The Signature Noir 65 is simply put – chocolate on chocolate on chocolate. Rich and indulgent, you can’t go wrong with this chocolatey slice.

If you fancy trying something a little different, then it’s worth taking a bite of one of these cute Choco Tarts. A strong rival to the famous baked cheese tarts, this cream cheese concoction is served on a cocoa and Spanish almond based and is certainly unique!

Looking to something sweet to sate those sugar cravings? AnOther Sweet Place has got to be on your list. Our favourites had to be The Matcha Opera and the Cheshire Cat, which are perfect for matcha lovers and fruit lovers respectively. Each dessert is artfully crafted, and is sure to spice up your usual dessert choice. What’s more, their homemade soft-serve ice cream is divine and ideal for these hot and humid Hong Kong days… go on, treat yourself!
