Dooney & Bourke Spring/Summer 2012: a bag for all seasons

OK Dooney & Bourke, you can stop now. You see every time you come out with a new collection I fall in love with something and have to own it. My last acquisition was your brown leather satchel and it accompanied me all around the world, holding all my travel essentials along the way. I love the smell of the leather, the versatility of the long strap and short handles, the amazing price, and the perfect shade of caramel! And now you have gone and done it again with this new range of bags, making me lust after not one but several pieces!

First on my must-have list is the Flap Tab Satchel in Olive Green. This bag would be my new go-to; I love how the grainy leather is so sturdy and yet would only look better with age. It’s the one I would carry everywhere and bring with me on my next city expedition. The size is perfect and would look amazing with casual wear and little spring dresses. What is great is that this colour can also carry you through fall… but that’s a long way off, so lets just think about how cute it would look with a denim shirt and some skinny pale pink pants!

Another must own is the Smooth Leather Crossbody Happy Bag. Now I am having a bit of trouble deciding on the colour, as there are 18 to choose from! Should I go with the tangerine and play up my springy florals? Should I go with the French blue and liven up a nautical look? Or should I stick with a crisp white and add a much-needed basic to my bag collection? Hmmmm… decisions decisions!

Next up, is the Lambskin O-Ring Shopper. It screams airport carry-on bag and could easily double as your beach bag once you arrive at your destination!  The lambskin is incredible soft and, oh my goodness, the smell is heavenly! The interior, as with any D&B bag, is lined with pockets to keep everything you are carrying perfectly organised. One genius accessory is the key strap, as it makes finding my keys a breeze!

Lastly, you must take a peek at the vintage-inspired Magnetic Crossbody. Reminiscent of camera cases of old, you can fit all your basics in here and, because it is a hands-free crossbody, wander all over town free to explore! Personally, I love the brown saddle colour and would wear this with some rolled up shorts, a soft cotton button-down shirt and a summery hat to top it all off!

Oh, and Sassy Mamas out there check out the Nylon Colour Blocked Collection and the Smith Bag in particular. These would make the cutest diaper bags, no!?! There are tons of pockets inside and you can just wipe the exterior clean with a damp cloth. Plus, they come in loads of fun colours, so even if it is grey outside you can still brighten up your day!
