Creative City Launches with a HK Culture Map

7 July, 2010

We love learning about the cool and cultural spots in town and often have to rely on the experts to show us the way as we openly admit that we get rather stuck in the same routine of restaurants and bars in Soho. We can’t wait to get our hands on the newly launched Creative City which is a map that is devoted to celebrating Hong Kong’s creativity. The map is the baby of Whitespace founder Danielle Huthart and journalist Louise Wong and their intent is to shift the perception that Hong Kong lacks in cultural and creative appeal.

Creative City has direct input from our city’s most established writers, artists, designers and other creative entrepreneurs and it lists their favourite places to check out in Hong Kong (and we are not talking just Central and Soho area either!). It is geared not only to the designer type but anyone who wants to dive a bit deeper into what Hong Kong has to offer.

The map includes six district maps on one side and a large map of HK, Kowloon and the New Territories on the other. It is also packed with:
– More then 150 recommendations from creative insiders
– Fascinating factoids and practical information
– Pocket-sized convenience that expands to 88cm x 41cm
– Tips on where to Stash, Savour, See and Stray

Creative City is currently available at major bookshops, lifestyle and selected design-friendly stores for $28HKD. We can’t wait to pick up a copy for ourselves – as we have a ton of cultural catching up to do around this town!
