Cherry Blossoms in Japan

I’m very excited to be heading to Japan for Easter vacation! We are flying to Osaka and then taking the train to Kyoto to spend 4 days there. We didn’t know when we were booking that we would be arriving right in the middle of one of the most special times of year in Japan – Cherry Blossom Season! It meant that booking hotels was a NIGHTMARE, and some friends who are going at the same time are having to stay in a different hotel each night – not easy when you consider how large Japanese cities can be. Cherry blossom is one of my absolute favourite flowers, but even so, I’m interested to see whether it will be possible to spend more than a couple of hours looking at it!

I also can’t wait to eat lots of delicious food (my food-obsessed husband already has a list ready of ramen restaurants in Osaka to try), and to get cosy in the cold. The only problem is what to pack, as the temperature in the evenings can fall to just a couple of degrees above zero… brrrrrr! I’m going to be pulling out my big winter coat and Uggs again!
