Activism by Eating Ice Cream – The Clean Air Network

21 March, 2010

Air pollution is very much on all of our minds these days – if you’ve been in the city this past week, you’ll have seen the government warnings to stay indoors and avoid strenuous exercise, as well as noticing the intense smog shrouding the harbour. Well, the good news is, there is a way to take a small action today to do something!

If you head down to Ben & Jerry‘s today, you’ll get a double-treat. As well as finding that ice cream cones are only an amazing HK$10, you will also get the nice warm glow that comes with helping out a charity (not to mention some yummy ice cream)! This year Ben & Jerry’s are supporting the Clean Air Network – a cause that is close to all of our hearts (or should we say lungs?) in Hong Kong. To find out more about the work that the Clean Air Network does, visit the CAN website, or get inspired by watching this YouTube video.

You can also sign the Petition for Clean Air online – by printing this petition out and bringing it to a Ben & Jerry’s store, you’ll be entered into a Prize Draw to win 2.4 gallons of Ben & Jerry’s brand new flavour, “A Cookie Affair”.

What a great excuse for eating some ice cream!

You can find Ben & Jerry’s stores in Hong Kong in Lan Kwai Fong (d’Aguilar Street), Festival Walk, Times Square and Pier 3 in Central. For a full list of all locations, check Ben & Jerry’s website.
