Celebrate Earth Day with niin Jewellery – 22 April

20 April, 2010

A couple of weeks ago we were stopped by the showroom of niin Jewellery and we left feeling like we were introduced to an amazing secret. You see, niin Jewellery is one of those stores that is hidden completely off the street (Wyndham Street to be exact) and you only hear about it if you are “in the know”. The concept behind niin is entirely earth friendly and just being in the studio makes you feel so connected to the world as the pieces are all rooted to the environment in some way.

Jeanine the owner and designer of niin feels so passionate about being green that her entire showroom is designed using recycled pieces. It was so amazing to see how a little paint on an old filing or china cabinet can make something old seem new again. What we really loved is the unique way that Jeanine used these old pieces to create an entirely new use for them.

There are two lines in the niin collection.

The niin design line is the more expensive of the two and is about creating one of a kind pieces. Some of my favourites from this line are:

Dyed Agate & Sterling Silver Gold Plated Pendant with Chain – about $2,200

Oval Stone Gold Plated Silver Brushed – about $1,800

The niin treasures line is more affordable and is inspired by Jeanine’s travels around the world. My favs are:

Flower Craved Rings Onyx – about $505

Rattan Wave Bangle – about $40

Special Event: To celebrate Earth Day this Thursday niin Jewellery is hosting a special shopping event on 22 April from 4pm-8pm. A portion of the proceeds will go to WWF and Project C Change. We think if it is going to help the earth it may be worth picking up a ring…right?!
