Buy-a-Brick Campaign for the Hong Kong Dog Rescue

The Hong Kong Dog Rescue is an amazing charity currently based in Pokfulam which takes care of and re-homes abandoned dogs. Towards the end of 2009 they got the news that they couldn’t renew the lease for the land that their kennels is on, and so they would have to find a new site – no easy task considering the amount of space that the kennels take up, and the fact that they needed to stay as close as possible to the Centre of Hong Kong in order to make it easy enough for potential adopters to visit, and for the dog walking volunteers to walk the dogs.

After a nerve-wracking few months, a new site in Tung Chung has been found, but they still need to fundraise to build the new home for all the dogs. The Buy-a-Brick campaign was launched last week to make it easy for donors to contribute to this great cause. You can buy a brick online in denominations of $100, $500 and $1,000, or the brick postcards are also available at the HKDR Pokfulam Kennels Store and the Whiskers & Paws adoption events.
