BCBGMAXAZRIA Spring/Summer 2012 – all the season’s finest

It is no secret that I am huge fan of BCBGMAXAZRIA. There is a BCBG outlet near my house in the States and I would literally move in if they had a better kitchen… or any kitchen at all. If you read the AW11 review then you know that they are much more than just party dresses; well, this season they have done it again! The racks are drenched in the brightest and best shades and the fabrics and fits are perfectly on point! Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

First on the docket are the pleats that are featured on several pieces. Pleats are one thing that never go out of style. I still wear a knee length pleated skirt I bought in 2000 and it manages to look chic season after season! Pleats are sophisticated, ladylike, and best of all, never wrinkle! Best bet: the yellow and navy chevron dress with sheer panels around the hem and bust. I have tried on this amazing little dress and let me tell you it is very flattering! It would be absolutely perfect for a summer wedding! The sheer bits add a bit of sexy to a conservatively cut frock.

The textures of these spring summer pieces are spectacular! The beadwork, sequins, and lace detailing are so girly and glamorous it turns your everyday wear into something so much more enchanting! Sequins are done in nude and blush tones whispering glamour with a subtle come-hither air. A studded navy suit jacket adds the perfect blend of spice to an otherwise sweet look.

All of the current trends are well represented in this collection keeping you right on track with the style stunners. Colour blocking is perfected on the form fitting body-con dress while coloured snakeskin makes an appearance on a pair of comfy trousers. The high-low hem is a new trend on display and BCBG hits the mark with skirts and dresses in beautiful bold colours with this cut.

I’ve heard that accessorizing is what separates us from the animals. If you really want to show that you have evolved then try the gold tassel bracelet, which looks far more expensive than what the price tag reveals! You will be sure to cause a big bang with the sunburst earrings and BCBG also has a few eclectic collars and necklaces to really set your self apart from the herd!
