Barbie for Christian Louboutin

I already thought Barbie had the ultimate lifestyle with all her dream houses, boyfriends, incredible careers, cars….. now she has totally outdone herself and has become Christian Louboutin’s muse.  In fact, the shoe genius is proclaiming he is Barbie’s Godfather, seriously! Back in October ’09 Loubiton collaborated with Mattel and created a line of special edition Christian Louboutin Barbies.  The dolls have entire lines of Louboutin shoes designed specifically for them and come complete with a diary and photos of Barbie’s life experiences while wearing the shoes.  As if  Barbie didn’t already have the perfect body, Christian himself said that she needed a reduction in her ankle size, he apparently thought she had “cankles”. So this limited edition Barbie boasts not only Louboutin shoes, but also much smaller ankles.

There are actually three dolls in this collection.  Each has its own theme and comes packaged in a Louboutin shoe box with 4 pairs of amazing Louboutin heels to complete the look.  The first of the collection; the jewelry thief,  was released back in December. The second of the collection is the  chic safari Barbie and just came out in February.  Last to be released is the Cannes Film Festival Barbie in May.  Oh, and notice that none of the dolls have blonde hair!

Apparently there is already a wait list for each of the editions which retail at $150USD.  Louboutin also designed a line of Barbie inspired shoes for real girls like us and they are available in stores now!
