American Apparel is back in Hong Kong!

30 May, 2013

They came… they left… but now they’re back!

Following their all too brief pop-up store last year, hipster fave American Apparel has returned to Admiralty’s LAB Concept with a spanking new 1,500 square foot area – and this time it’s for good!

Talk about perfect timing… AA’s bright tees, colourful dresses, breezy skirts and thigh-skimming shorts are practically tailor-made for HK’s hot and humid summers. OK, so the crop tops and printed leggings aren’t going to be everyone’s tastes (can we please have our teenager-sized bodies back for summer at least?!) but they have plenty of fun and fresh basics ideal for mix and match outfits for all those beach days, junk trips and nights out you have planned.

Alongside all their signature staples (tees, dresses, hoodies, leggings), you’ll also be able to find shoes, swimwear, menswear, items exclusive to Asia and even some goodies from American Apparel’s California Vintage Select line. Boys, watch out – if all goes well, they may even expand their menswear section too (though personally I’m hoping for AA’s nail polish line first, sorry guys!).

Price-wise, it’s not that far off a direct conversion from AA’s US prices – we spotted their signature Helvetica Alphabet Tee for $210 (compared to US$24 on American Apparel’s website stateside), whilst their flippy summer dresses are around the $620 mark.

So far, LAB Concept is the exclusive stockist of American Apparel in Hong Kong; meanwhile, if you’d rather not leave the comfort of your air-conditioned living room for an AA shopping spree, don’t forget they also now have their HK e-store http://store.americanapparel.com.hk/ that ships for free on all orders over $600.
