7 Boozy Brunches that Won’t Break the Bank

13 January, 2016

Brunch, sleep, brunch, repeat.

We’re nearly two weeks in to those resolutions and if like us, all resolve disappeared roughly around the same time our hangover hit on 2 January, then this is the post for you. And if those December bank statements have hit you like a ton of bricks, don’t fret, we have just the thing that’ll numb (literally) the pain whilst keeping your social life afloat. It’s time to post this on the Facebook walls of those weaker-willed friends and join the revolt – here are seven boozy feasts that’ll blow your mind, not your budget this year.

taku-brunch-shk

Their menu boasts traditional favourites including sashimi, sushi, tempura, udon and their seriously hard-to-resist yuzu sorbet! This brunch is not only light on the wallet, but light on the stomach too.

Wash all of these delightful bites down with free-flow white, red or sparkling wine – all for just $380! The relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and high quality of the wine at this quaint French resto make for the ideal chilled out brunch spot. We’ll see you there!

bomaby-dreams-brunch

Bombay Dreams

Those who’re used to a Sunday curry (and copious amounts of Cobra) in your local Mile End jaunt will appreciate this one. Bombay Dreams is a serious brunch contender, weighing in with an awesome buffet-bonanza and tipping the scales with endless samosas, fragrant curries, naan bread and the humble onion bhaji. Soak it all up with free-flowing wine, beer and soft drinks to boot. Curry club is back on, girls!

rummintings-brunch-shk

Rummin’ Tings

Rummin’ Tings are spicing up the weekend brunch game with two hours of unlimited jerk platters (chicken, pork, lamb, veggies and prawns) alongside free-flowing Caribbean Pimms, beer and wine. Send that text now, you’re not moving a muscle all day – not with chilled, live music and the chance of a cheeky champagne upgrade.

When: Every Saturday and Sunday, 12pm-4pm
Where: 28 Hollywood Road, Central, Hong Kong

Indulge in free-flowing Italian aperitivos, bellinis and Prosecco whilst choosing your fill from a three-course, semi-buffet feast that’ll put those cheese dreams to rest and keep the pasta cravings at bay (for the mean time). My Mamma’s Meatball, cheese fondue and fried mozzarella sandwiches are sure to cure that Saturday-induced hangover.

When: Every Sunday, 12pm-3pm
Where: 29/30F, 239 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong

Pace yourself though, girls, you’ll most definitely want to leave room for the kicker – their all-you-can-eat, build-your-own nacho bar. Yes please! Nachos for days. detox-armani-brunch-shk

Armani/Aqua

This brunch is a touch pricier than some of the other listings, but it’s perfect for those who aren’t looking to throw in the towel all together, but are willing to compromise on just how ‘dry’ January may be. Armani/Aqua’s New Year, New You brunch is laden with a selection of low-calorie dishes and cocktails that’ll let you have your cake and eat it, too! Plus, you won’t feel so bad about the all-day drinking sesh that’s sure to ensue, you’re practically in the negative.
