1010 Quintessentially Event at Paspaley Pearls

4 January, 2011

A few weeks back I attended an event hosted by 1010 Quintessentially, which is Hong Kong’s luxury mobile concierge service. The event was held at Paspaley Pearls at 1881 Heritage in TST (they also have another HK location in Central) and it was the launch of many other events in which the service offers their customers exclusive tailored experiences that are the ultimate in luxury.

I just started to hear about Paspaley recently so it was so great to learn first hand about the company and we were even given the chance to chat with Christopher Paspaley, who is the grandson of the founder. As we sipped on champagne (only a small amount for me as I am trying to kick my bubbly habit at the moment!) we gazed at all the fabulous pearls and imagined which type of event we would wear each one to. Pearls sometimes get a bad rap (not from me though – I love them!) in that they are viewed as a bit older but what I learned from this event is that it is all in how you wear them. You can make the most simple pearl necklace look totally current based on the outfit you pair it with. I immediately fell in love with the below necklace just based on how Paspaley’s Marketing Manager wore it. It is definitely wish list worthy and while it is very pricey for me I rationalize the hefty price by thinking I am bound to pass it down to generation upon generation!

After a bit of browsing we sat down for some pearl education which was a lot of fun and I left with a deeper understanding of the process that goes into creating a pearl of distinction. We couldn’t resist trying on many a necklace and even convinced a guy in our group to don a necklace. In his defense though it was the most manly piece in the store and I think it looked rather nice on him!

Thanks to 1010 Quintessentially and Paspaley for hosting this event. If there is more like this to come I definitely want to sign up for the service!
